What is THCA?
Legal THCA = THC
Here's why:
How does THCA get its effect? (THCA vs. THC)
You may be wondering what THCA is used for if it is not naturally psychoactive. The "magic" happens when THCA is heated – for example, when smoked or vaporised. High temperatures convert THCA into Delta-9 THC, the psychoactive substance that triggers the familiar euphoric "high" effect.
And that's nothing new – it's just how it is: all marijuana flowers work on the same principle. In their raw state, they usually contain only 2–5% Delta-9 THC, while the majority of the "THC" they contain is in the form of THCA. Only after heating does THCA convert into classic THC and the psychoactive effect kick in. And that's exactly what we do: we breed specially refined strains with high THCA content and low THC content, so you get the best out of the plant and a legal product at the same time.
What is THCA?
THCA, or tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, is the natural form of THC found in hemp. Unlike classic THC (Delta-9 THC), THCA is not considered a controlled substance and is therefore legal in Germany and Austria, for example.
Why is THCA legal?
Put simply, the law focuses exclusively on the Delta-9 THC content. If the Delta-9 THC content is below the legal limit (usually up to 0.2–0.3%), the product meets the legal requirements. Our hemp is therefore cultivated to have a high THCA content and a very low Delta-9 THC content, thus complying with all legal requirements. This means you can enjoy real hemp flowers without having to worry about breaking the law.
